Update 1.4: The Mysterious Meteorite of Mt. Pyre
While Update 1.4 itself was a technical patch, it supports a game that added massive features to the original Hoenn experience: Pokemon Omega Ruby Update 1.4
Officially, Game Freak and Nintendo released Version 1.4 to provide "various bug fixes to improve the gameplay experience." However, the community quickly identified its primary function: mandating an updated software version for all online features [13, 16]. To access the Player Search System (PSS), Wonder Trade, Game Sync, or the Global Trade Station (GTS), players were forced to install the patch [13]. What’s New?
Update 1.4 was a mandatory patch for online features, focusing on game stability and anti-cheat measures rather than new gameplay content. Key changes included:
3. Online Services Stabilization (Post-Sun/Moon Launch)
While Omega Ruby’s online features (GTS, Wonder Trade, Battle Spot) were stable, Update 1.4 introduced backend changes to prevent desynchronization errors when battling against Pokémon Sun and Moon via the (now-defunct) Pokémon Global Link. I do love how it went from “potentially queer culture” because Gaiman always said we could ship this two the way we want, to become UNASHAMED queer. I also loved the use of “partner”, “spouse” and “they” as singular pronoun.
I completely understand why there wasn’t an “I love you”, it would be too soon and too painful. Their relationship didn’t reach this point yet so I think it’d be rushed.
Anyway great review!

Right? It got me by surprise in the most delightful way. Everything about this season was perfect apart from the ending. I’m still crying about it. Thank you for your comment!

So looking forward to this!
Season 1 was so well done- from the opening credits to the intricate mix of tongue in cheek humor and well…the apocalypse….
I think long term friendships do exist- there is love between the two leads for sure. I’ll have to read your article on that issue.

The two leads definitely love each other. I was convinced before, but not there’s no denying it. Great season.
