Removal & installation
- Mark pump-to-engine timing position (rotational and index marks).
- Drain fuel and disconnect inlet/outlet lines; cap lines to avoid contamination.
- Loosen drive coupling or flange bolts; support pump and remove.
- Reinstall using original timing marks; torque flange/drive fasteners to spec.
- Nozzle holder and nozzle sizes: Standard equipment required for testing.
- Delivery pipe dimensions: Length and diameter specifications.
- Test oil temperature and viscosity: Usually calibrated at 40°C.
- Fuel delivery rates: The exact cubic millimeters (mm³) of fuel the pump must deliver per stroke at specific rack positions and RPMs.
