1. Michael Scofield (Verified)

The architect of the chaos. Michael makes it out of Fox River through the infirmary pipe. He is recaptured later (Season 2), but for the purpose of the Fox River breakout, his escape is verified.

(Note: Cyclone, another inmate, was meant to escape but was killed during the attempt.)

Charles "Haywire" Patoshik: Michael’s temporary cellmate with a photographic memory.

(Note: T-Bag and Bellick were also in Sona. T-Bag used the chaos of the escape to secure a position of power within the prison, while Bellick remained trapped inside during the actual event.)

Failed Attempt: Charles Westmoreland (D.B. Cooper) was part of the original plan but died of injuries sustained during a fight with Captain Bellick just before the breakout. The Sona Breakout (Season 3)

3. Fernando Sucre (Verified)

Status: Escaped successfully. Details: Michael’s loyal cellmate. Sucre escapes Fox River, evades capture for months, and eventually serves a reduced sentence before being fully exonerated. His escape is verified by his later storyline involving his girlfriend Maricruz and his child.

Jax realized that escape alone wouldn't solve the problem. Outside, the ledger could be used to unmask sources, to open doors to people who could find them. He had to take the ledger with him — or make sure it never existed again.
