4. How to Replace the 12V Battery (The Manual is too cautious)

The official manual says "take to dealer." In reality, you can replace the small 12V battery (under the hood, passenger side). But you must keep the car’s computer alive. Use a 9V backup memory keeper on the OBD port. If you don’t, the car will "forget" the high-voltage battery’s state of charge, and the range display will be wrong for 3 full charge cycles. volkswagen e up manual

8. Emergency Procedures

Towing

  • NEVER tow the e-up! with the drive wheels (front) on the ground. This destroys the electric motor.
  • Use a flatbed tow truck only.
  • P (Park): Locks the wheels. Use this when parking and exiting.
  • R (Reverse): Activates reverse lights and camera (if equipped).
  • N (Neutral): Freewheeling. Use this in car washes.
  • D (Drive): Standard forward driving.
