When you download the official VCDS-Lite software from Ross-Tech, it functions in "Shareware mode." In this mode, you can read fault codes and clear them, but the powerful features are locked. You cannot view "Measuring Blocks" (live data) in real-time, and you cannot access "Adaptations" or "Basic Settings"—the very functions needed to bleed brakes, reset throttle bodies, or code keys.
