The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) is a community-created compatibility and bug-fix mod that aims to correct hundreds to thousands of bugs left unfixed by Skyrim Special Edition (SSE) and its official patches, as well as issues introduced by DLC or other mods. Version 1.5.97 refers to a specific release of the USSEP built against Bethesda’s SSE 1.5.97 runtime (the game executable and official patch level that mod authors target). This ensures the patch addresses issues and scripting behaviors as they exist in that official game build.

- Fix: Even on 1.5.97, the data for these CC mods exists. Install "Anniversary Edition Content Picker" to disable them, or simply ignore them. The USSEP 1.5.97 won't patch them, but they won't crash the game.

- Run the Downgrade Patcher.
- Select the “Best of Both Worlds” option (keeps AE content files but uses the 1.5.97 executable).
