The Koopalings: Adds all seven Koopalings (Larry, Iggy, Wendy, Lemmy, Roy, Morton, and Ludwig) as boss characters. Super Mario Maker 2 Mobile 3
Portability: While the Switch is portable, most people always have their phone on them. Having Mario Maker on a smartphone means instant level creation during a commute or lunch break.
Touchscreen Controls: The original Mario Maker on Wii U relied heavily on a touchscreen/stylus. Ironically, a smartphone’s capacitive touch display is perfect for drawing levels.
Cost: A Nintendo Switch costs $300+, plus $60 for the game. A "free" mobile download is obviously tempting (though legally questionable).
Community Creations: The mobile community hopes to access the millions of user-generated levels without needing a Nintendo Online subscription.
However, for a mobile app, it’s shockingly close. The drag-and-drop level editor is built for touchscreens—arguably better than using a controller. You can place Goombas, pipes, and spikes in seconds.
