Psp 352: M33 Upgrade To 660 =link=

Guide: Upgrading PSP from 3.52 M33 to 6.60 PRO/Mean CFW

Disclaimer

Proceed at your own risk. While this process is generally safe if instructions are followed correctly, modifying system firmware carries a small risk of bricking your device. Ensure your battery is charged to at least 75% before starting. Do not turn off the PSP during the update process.

Phase 2: Install Official 6.60 Firmware

Important: You cannot directly install OFW 6.60 over CFW. Use Sony’s updater within CFW. psp 352 m33 upgrade to 660

Battery life stretched like a slow afternoon. Networking found new grooves; ad-hoc lobbies held together through more lapses and distance. The UMD tray clattered less, as though the machine had learned to exhale. Guide: Upgrading PSP from 3

2. Update Your Homebrew & Plugins

Old 3.52 M33 plugins (.prx files) will not work on 6.60. You need to redownload 6.60-compatible versions: Phase 3: Install 6

  • Game Compatibility: Modern homebrew, emulators (like Daedalus X64 for N64), and recent game backups require firmware 5.00 or higher.
  • PSN Access: While PSN store is closed for PSP, higher firmware allows better network compatibility for ad-hoc play.
  • No more 1.50 Kernel add-ons: 3.52 M33 relied on a 1.50 kernel add-on for legacy homebrew. 6.60 PRO-C handles everything natively.
  • Infinity Permanence: You can make the hack permanent without the "brick risk" of older firmware.

Phase 3: Install 6.60 PRO-C2

For all PSP models (temporary CFW method – safest):

  1. Copy PROUPDATE folder → ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
  2. Run “PRO Update” → Press X to install CFW.
  3. Run “FastRecovery” after each cold boot.

Steps:

  • System Settings → System Information → should show 6.60 PRO-C2.
  • ISO/CSO games go in X:\ISO\ folder.
  • Homebrew (emulators, apps) work normally.
