If you have ever typed "how to draw" into YouTube, you have undoubtedly encountered the channel Proko. Run by Stan Prokopenko, Proko is widely considered the gold standard for art education online. But there is a massive difference between watching a Proko video and actually using the Proko Basic Drawing curriculum to get better.

- Watch the video once at normal speed. Do not touch your pencil. Just watch.
- Rewind to the start. Now, watch for 30 seconds, then pause.
- Mimic exactly. Draw what he drew. If he draws a line, you draw that line. If he erases, you erase.
- The "5-Time Rule": Do not move to the next concept until you have drawn the specific exercise (e.g., a single gesture of the bean) five times correctly.
- The Proko Challenge: Draw 100 boxes in 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point perspective in one sitting.
- How to improve: Use a ruler for the first 20. Then, remove the ruler for the next 80. Compare them. You will see your hand learning to draw straight lines organically. Do this for spheres (draw them inside squares) and cylinders (draw the ellipses until you don't get "pointy ends").
