- Path: Go to the ventilation shaft instead of the roof.
- Result: You crawl into the human’s bedroom. The human sees you, mistakes you for a cockroach, and sprays you directly. Game ends with a shoe falling on the screen.

Step 4: The Antlion Pit Puzzle
- The Trap: A massive inverted cone of sand. In the center, a larval antlion (think: a hairy, pincer-faced grub) waits. Any sand you disturb rolls downward, pulling you in.
- Solution: You cannot cross the sand directly. Look up. There are horizontal strands of spider silk strung across the top of the pit.
- Action: You need a hook. Break a twig off a dead root (examine the back wall). Use your aphid basket string (automatically in inventory if you kept it) to tie the twig into a grappling hook.
- Throw: Aim at the silk strand above the center. Swing across. Do not touch the sand.
- Alternate Route (Stealth): Lure the antlion using a Glowbug Gland (found in the previous tunnel). Throw it into the pit. The antlion will glow and eat it, allowing you to slide down the opposite wall while it’s distracted.
Tips & Tricks
- Save at every checkpoint—some timing sections are strict.
- Use shadows and ambient sound cues to detect hidden paths.
- If stuck on a block puzzle, think in reverse: where must you stand to move each block?
- Conserve dash/energy—many sequences require a final sprint.
- There is a quest involving the "Widow's Court" or the "Imperial Gardens" where players have to navigate insect-like enemies (Root Nexus) and "prison" cells holding prisoners.
- Walkthrough tip: Look for the flutes near the prison cells. You must play the correct sequence of notes (found elsewhere in the zone) to open the prison doors.
