Note on macOS: Apple dropped support for 32-bit applications with the release of macOS Catalina (10.15). Consequently, Imagenomic Portraiture for Mac is now exclusively 64-bit. Users on older Macs running obsolete OS versions cannot use the latest Portraiture 4 plugin.

  1. Duplicate the background layer and convert to a Smart Object (Filter > Convert for Smart Filters).
  2. Open Filter > Imagenomic > Portraiture.
  3. Select a preset close to your goal (e.g., “Medium – Light Skin”).
  4. Use the mask preview to verify which areas are selected as skin; sample additional tones with the eyedropper if needed, and refine tolerance.
  5. Adjust Small / Medium / Large sliders to tame texture while retaining pores and eyelashes (start light: Small 10–20, Medium 20–40, Large 10–25, then tweak).
  6. Use the Enhancement settings to restore micro-contrast to eyes and lips; increase opacity if the effect feels too strong.
  7. Reduce global opacity or change blend mode (Normal at reduced opacity) to integrate retouching naturally.
