What is an EmEditor Key?

An EmEditor key—officially called a Product Key or License Key—is a unique alphanumeric string that verifies your right to use EmEditor Professional. After installing EmEditor, the software runs in a 30-day trial mode. To continue using it beyond the trial period or to access Pro-only features (like large file controllers, CSV sorting, and debug logging), you must enter a valid key.

Where to Find Your Key

If you have purchased EmEditor but lost your key:

• Ctrl + Home / Ctrl + End: Instantly jump to the very top or very bottom of a massive file.
• Ctrl + Page Up / Ctrl + Page Down: Scroll by pages rather than lines.
• F7 (Jump to Line): Opens a dialog to jump straight to a specific line number—critical when debugging error logs that cite line numbers.
