Final Recommendation

For single-player campaigns & custom maps: Version 1.31 is excellent — stable, widescreen, and fast.

For modern ladder / Reforged graphics: Use version 1.32+ from Blizzard.

For classic competitive (2003-2010 meta): Use version 1.26 or 1.28 (not 1.31).
