The mechanics are simple yet effective, allowing players to engage with the story and its characters on a deeper level. If you are the type of player who needs a golden path and a "Continue" button that leads to a credits roll, turn back now. But if you are willing to stare into the uncanny valley of a work-in-progress, you will find one of the most emotionally resonant narratives about guilt and memory I have played this year. The biggest issue is quantity. For an AVN relying on emotional investment, v0.37 starves you of payoff. Several intriguing subplots (a mysterious letter, a rival's secret) are introduced but go absolutely nowhere in this build. Also, the save system could use a "scene gallery" or a "route recap" — with slow updates, players will forget who said what.
