When Assassin’s Creed Unity launched in 2014, it was plagued by bugs, performance issues, and notorious glitches. But over time, Ubisoft worked to redeem the game—and Patch 12 was the final, most crucial update for PC players. If you’ve heard people say “Unity is actually good now,” Patch 12 is the reason why.
For most players, updating is handled automatically through modern launchers.

Key Fixes: This update addressed Multi-GPU (SLI/Crossfire) issues, improved performance in cinematics on low-end hardware, and fixed various crashes related to Uplay invitations.
The update is roughly 800 MB on Ubisoft Connect (formerly Uplay) and 332 MB on Steam. It includes:
NVIDIA Settings: If using an NVIDIA card, enabling Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA) in the NVIDIA Control Panel can provide a 10–30% FPS boost with quality similar to 4x MSAA.
Then (Patch 1.0): 4/10 – A beautiful disaster. Unplayable for many. Now (Patch 12): 8.5/10 – A flawed masterpiece.
