Aspen HYSYS (part of the aspenONE Engineering Suite ), your system must meet specific hardware and software benchmarks to handle complex process simulations efficiently.

Unsupported Operating Systems:

1. Local license file (node-locked) – requires no network after activation.
2. License server (floating) – requires constant, low-latency connection to a FlexLM server on port 27000-27009.

Aspen HYSYS is a Windows-native application. Linux and macOS require virtualization (see Section 7). Aspen Hysys System Requirements

Post-Installation Optimizations:

• Increase virtual memory to 1.5x physical RAM on the fastest drive.
• Exclude HYSYS folders from Windows Defender (C:\Program Files\AspenTech, C:\Users\Public\AspenTech).
• In HYSYS Options:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework: Version 4.8 or higher (usually installed via Windows Update).
  • Microsoft Office: 64-bit version of Office is highly recommended for Excel integration (exporting data, running Excel property sets).
  • Visual C++ Redistributables: Various versions (2015-2022) are required for the software to launch.
