Part 5: The Flashing Process (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Load the Firmware

1. Open the USB Burning Tool.
2. Click File -> Import Image.
3. Select your firmware .img file.
4. Wait for the checksum verification to finish. You should see the firmware info populated in the window.

• Remove all cables.
• Open the case.
• Locate the NAND (usually a black rectangular chip with Toshiba or Hynix logo).
• Short pins 17 and 18 using tweezers or a conductive wire.
• While shorting, connect the USB cable to your PC.
• Release the short after 3 seconds.
• USB Burning Tool should detect “MASKROM” mode.

• Many boxes: Hold the reset button (inside AV port or a small pinhole) while connecting USB to PC.
• If that fails: Open the case, short the two NAND pins (usually marked “CLK” and “GND”) while plugging in USB.
